‘Black panther’ pictured in creepy UK cemetery as big cat sightings rise
A “black panther” has been photographed in a cemetery in the West Country.
It is the latest in a series of claimed sightings of the creature, with farmers, dog walkers and occasionally, train staff claiming to have clapped eyes on a large black cat.
A man from Burnham-On-Sea claims to have captured clear photographic evidence of the beast.
He sent the picture to SomersetLive with the caption “Black panther spotted in Burnham-on-Sea cemetery.”
It is not clear from the grainy image whether it really captures the rumoured large black cat or if it is just an ordinary cat.

However, this picture does add to a mounting file of evidence that such creatures may exist in the UK.
In August a large, panther-like creature was photographed hiding amongst long grass.
The black muscular looking cat was pictured in Smallthorne, Staffordshire, and sent anonymously to a zoology organisation.
The photo came with a handwritten note dated March 17, but it is unclear what year it is from.
While in July, Andy Rule, 53, and his wife Claire, 50, claim to have captured one of the predators on a trail camera.
They set up the cameras in woodland in the Cotswolds, near Nympsfield, Gloucestershire years ago in the hope of snapping a beast.
The cat can just about be made out in the image – with Andy commenting that its greyer appearance meant it was likely an older one.
And in 2021, Cathy Fox claimed she saw the big cat in Prestatyn, North Wales on May 1.

Ms Fox described the creature she spotted as a “jet black, huge, cat-like animal”, according to the Rhyl Journal.
She reported the sighting to Puma Watch North Wales, and said: “I was in Prestatyn on Saturday afternoon and saw a jet black huge cat-like animal, small ears long tail, in the growth at the side of the train tracks.
“It was at Prestatyn train station I was a passenger in the car as we drove over the bridge over the tracks I saw it in the undergrowth.
“I’ve reported it to the police.”
Express.co.uk has also mapped out where in the UK the mysterious creatures have previously been spotted.
