The Duchess of Sussex swears by her Veja trainers and the year the brand is selling products with 30 percent off. According to Elle, Meghan loves the ethical trainer brand, which she was spotted wearing during her first royal visit to Australia. After she wore the show, reports suggest online searches for them went up by a staggering 113 percent.
It was part of what has become known universally as the Meghan Markle effect.
With Black Friday deals hitting today and online shoppers preparing for Cyber Monday Amazon looks set for a repeat of last year’s sales performances.
The company did not release hard figures but said both days in 2018 smashed the company’s records and were the biggest shopping days in its history.
Amazon also said the period spanning Thanksgiving Day to Cyber Monday also broke company records for worldwide sales making millions more sales than 2017.
“Black Friday and Cyber Monday continue to break records on Amazon year-over-year, which tells us that customers love shopping for deals to kick off the holiday shopping season,” Jeff Wilke, the CEO of Amazon worldwide consumer, said in a statement.
Although originally a US phenomenon Amazon introduced the concept to the UK in 2010, promoting a range of discounts and deals to consumers.
In 2013 Asda supermarket, later held its own sales on Black Friday – where people were reported to be fighting over electronics in a bid to take advantage of the deals on display.
Following Asda’s example many other retailers now take part signalling the growing prevalence of the sales day in the UK.

Where retailers seem to be seeing some of the largest profits however is online.
According to IMRG, £1.49 billion was spent on UK online retail sites on Black Friday 2018, while Retail Week found 194 million visits were made to UK shopping pages on November 23 last year.
Amazon made up a whopping 26 percent of all retail during the period showing the growing dominance of online shopping.

Cyber Monday is relatively newer than it’s friday counterpart, created by retailers as they saw the burgeoning potential for online shopping.
The day now boasts its own internet exclusive deals and is as comparable a sales juggernaut.
Adobe Analytics found that sales in 2018 even eclipsed those of the friday, with American consumers spending $7.9 billion (£6.1 billion).
Martin Lewis appeared on Good Morning Britain to tell viewers his top tips on how to save money.
What are the best confirmed deals? Martin gave his tips.
Martin said: “Deals come in two forms. The ones I most like are those with blanket codes or vouchers that operate cross store, as here you can usually buy what you would’ve bought anyway at a discount.
“Yet there are also one-off deals on individual items, done at places like Apple, which gives vouchers on top, Amazon and John Lewis yet I worry here people buy because it’s cheap, not because they need.”
However, the Money Saving Expert explained shoppers can save a huge amount of money if they buy items they were already looking for.
