Beautiful seaside town named one of UK’s best so posh it has a yacht club

A beautiful seaside town in Scotland has been named as one of the best in the UK – and it’s so posh it has a yacht club.

North Berwick has been rated as fifth most popular seaside location in the whole country, beating iconic towns down south including Brighton and Blackpool by rankings published in The Telegraph.

Located just 20 miles outside Edinburgh, the East Lothian beach town is widely popular among locals, fellow Scots and tourists from further afield.

The town boasts sandy beaches, independent shops and a historic golf course all on the bonnie banks of the Firth of Forth.

The town’s two sandy bays are popular with tourists – but are much more peaceful than some of the hotspots in the south of England. Of course, the weather isn’t as nice – but temperatures still sometimes reach the low 20s in the summer months.

The town is jam-packed full of independent shops, including Bostock Bakery, Alandas Gelation, a gin distillery and the Why Not? artisan market.

There are also more than 20 golf courses in the surrounding area.
