A popular village has once again been recognised as one of the most upmarket places in the UK. 

Burnham Market was the only village in Norfolk to be named in The Times list of UK’s top 22 poshest villages. 

The destination was also featured in a list by The Telegraph of the poshest places to live. 

The Georgian village is constantly coming out on top when it comes to its desirable location close to the seaside.

According to the list, the village is also known as  ‘Chelsea-on-Sea’ because the average house price is a staggering £826,770, which is out of the reach of most people.

The village is famous for its Burnham Market International Horse Trials, which was famously attended by the Princess Royal Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall. 

She took park in the horse trials, watched by husband and former rugby star Mike Tindall and their three children Mia, Lena and Lucas.

It has a range of boutique and antique shops and is well known for its lively social scene. 

Highlighted for its “posh appeal” the reviewer said: “Dubbed Chelsea-on-Sea because of its social scene, Burnham Market is a traditional Georgian village just two miles from Brancaster Beach and six miles from Wells-next-the- Sea, and surrounded by nature reserves. 

“Around the village green are boutique stores, antique shops and restaurants such as No Twenty9 and Socius, plus fashionable hotel the Hoste.”
