BDSM 'slave' waited hours to murder dominatrix's boyfriend on dog walk
A man who was a willing ‘slave’ in a BDSM arrangement waited hours to murder his dominatrix’s boyfriend, an Australian court heard.
Stuart Lindsay Heron, now 50, used a knife and a hammer to kill 39-year-old Nicholas Cameron while he was walking his dog in Melbourne, in July 2021.
Heron pleaded guilty to murder in March and faced a pre-sentence hearing at the Supreme Court on Monday.
More details of his ‘harebrained’ plan were revealed, including how Heron had waited from 8.05pm until just after midnight to attack his victim on July 9.
Five days before the murder, he had also waited outside Nicholas’ home for seven hours.
Heron had promised his co-offender and ‘dom’ Heidi Bos, 37, that he would scare her partner Nicholas, who she was having issues with, into leaving town.
He told Bos: ‘I’m 99% certain I can convince him to never contact you again, my lady.’
Bos had called her boyfriend an ‘ungrateful f**kwit’ in May 2021 and, after an argument on July 9, gave Heron the green light to confront him, the court heard.
Police later found a folder on Heron’s phone entitled ‘target’ which contained listings for Nicholas’ flat, its floor plan, photos of his dog Misty and the code for his lockbox.
On the night of the killing, Heron arrived at Nicholas’ building just after 8pm and went to a spot where he thought Nicholas had parked his hired car.
But Heron realised he had the wrong vehicle at 10.37pm and moved into a car park where he hid behind a pillar.
When Nicholas took Misty out for a walk just after midnight, Heron inflicted an 11-minute attack with a hammer and a knife.
Nicholas suffered 12 skull fractures and was pronounced dead at the scene at 12.45am on July 10.
Heron was arrested while still in the building, after he pushed past a neighbour to wait for the elevator.
Police, who had already been called by this point, found him covered in blood, with a large knife, a hammer, handcuffs and a dog’s leash.
Bos admitted manslaughter for her role in the plan and was jailed for six years and three months in February. Heron will be sentenced on September 8.
The pair had met on a website for the BDSM and fetish community where Bos used the handle ‘Hedonistic Siren’ to meet ‘slaves’.
Heron’s profile said: ‘I pride myself on my service, which includes being her personal play toy, cook, cleaner, masseuse, handyman, builder, mechanic, amongst other things.’
‘As her slave, Ms Bos’ unhappiness was Mr Heron’s unhappiness,’ prosecutor Elizabeth Ruddle said.
Heron’s defence lawyer Richard Backwell told how his client, a former diesel mechanic, did not have a violent history but was ‘at the behest of Ms Bos’.
The court heard that Heron had told a psychologist the killing was ‘the worst decision he’s made in his life’.
Justice Michael Croucher said: ‘It’s strange and surprising, the whole thing. Heron seems to have been infatuated with Ms Bos, he’s lonely, his other relationship ended, he was hopeful of something more with her.
‘He’s in this strange fantasy world of a subservient relationship and for whatever reason, he agrees to this harebrain scheme.’
