BBC weather’s embarrassing blunder as crew member walks in front of forecast

A BBC weather presenter was embarrassed this week when a crew member walked into the live shot. Elizabeth Rizzini was going through the forecast for the next few days on the News at 10 when the incident happened on Tuesday evening.

She was halfway through telling viewers about today’s weather when a member of the crew walked into the frame. The person didn’t seem to realise what had happened, reading a booklet as they walked across the BBC London live shot.

The presenter did not let it phase her though and continued saying: “An improving picture from the West – but it will be feeling colder.”

This was not the BBC’s only recent blunder, however, with viewers complaining about the incident online. Viewers of a politics special on BBC Breakfast noticed the word Westminster was spelt incorrectly.

While political correspondent Henry Zeffman spoke, the live location tag read “Wesminster”. The typos prompted rage on X, with viewers telling the broadcaster to “sort it out” as “it’s BBC Breakfast for goodness sake”.

Another said: “I spotted it too. Why don’t they check their spelling more often!”
