BBC viewers turn TV off as Andrew Marr ‘loses temper’ in interview with Boris Johnson
BBC viewers erupted into criticism online as they accused host Andrew Marr of repeatedly cutting off Prime Minister Boris Johnson during a heated interview on Sunday. The Prime Minister finally agreed to be interviewed after rejecting offers of an evening confrontation with veteran BBC presenter Andrew Neil. But viewers voiced their anger at the conduct of the interview, with some members of the audience shutting their televisions down to protest Mr Marr’s interrupting Mr Johnson on several occasions.
One viewer wrote: “Genuinely tried to watch Marr but have turned it off, all he is going is talking over the PM.”
A member of the audience said: “#Marr appears to have lost his temper before he had even asked a question. Car crash.”
Another took to Twitter to blast Mr Marr over “not letting” voters hear the views of the Prime Minister: “Marr not letting us actually hear what the Prime Minister has to say as per usual from the BBC.
“Boris only been in charge 5 minutes and if we had a deal he could be cracking on.”

Their view was echoed by several other BBC viewers, with one adding: “Is Marr actually going to let Boris answer a single question without sniping over him?
Another social media user wrote: “Marr is so rude and biased with his incessant interruptions of Boris Johnson. This is blatantly unfair when he fails to interrupt the others.”
And some other BBC audience members hit out at Mr Marr’s interviewing technique, urging the BBC host to have Andrew Neil “coach him”.
One user said: “A shame to see a career end on camera…pity it’s Marr.

“A former incisive interviewer being simply brushed aside. The BBC should have had him on a sick-day and subbed in @afneil.”
Another wrote: “Is there any way Andrew Neil could coach Andrew Marr on interviewing technique?”
The Prime Minister himself pointed out Andrew Marr repeatedly cut him off rather than allowing him to respond after the presented accused him of “chuntering.”
Mr Johnson said: “You’re chuntering, you are interrupting.
