Batches of Cow & Gate baby food recalled from Irish stores
Some batches of Cow & Gate Cheesy Broccoli Bake are being recalled.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland said the jars of Cheesy Broccoli Bake (10+ months) might contain small pieces of blue rubber.
The 250g jars carry a batch code of 28122020 and have a best-before date of 28 December 2020.
According to the FSA the batch was only sold in Boots Ireland.
A spokeswoman for the makers said :”We are taking this action because some jars in this batch have been found to contain small pieces of thin blue rubber glove. The product does not pose a health risk, but we are recalling it as it does not meet our usual high quality standards. We are therefore asking parents not to feed Cheesy Broccoli Bake with this best before date to their babies.
“Nothing is more important to us than the quality and safety of our products. We are sorry that this happened and would like to reassure parents that this is an isolated incident. Our factories maintain strict internationally-recognised standards, are regularly audited and meet all relevant European legislation. We regret that this batch does not meet our usual high standards and we have already taken action to reinforce our quality procedures.
“We would ask parents to return any jars of Cheesy Broccoli Bake with this best before date (28/12/20) to the store where they were purchased for a refund.
