Bank holiday Monday opening hours: What time are Sainsbury’s and Morrisons open?

Millions of workers and students will enjoy a day of rest in celebration of the Whitsun Monday. Although this is good news for most, it also means the majority of businesses in the UK will be closed for the occasion. The bank holiday is a chance to cook up a feast for friends and family, but before you head to the shops, follow the Express.co.uk guide to find out what time Sainsbury’s and Morrisons are open.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s superstores will be open on Monday, but opening hours will vary depending on the location.

Sainsbury’s Local stores will be open as usual, from 7am to 11pm.

Morrisons

Morrisons shoppers are in luck as the supermarket will be open today.

Most Morrisons stores will be open from 8am to 7pm, although some will operate on even more reduced hours.

Supermarkets

A whole host of other supermarkets will also open their doors to shoppers today.

Asda, Aldi, Lidl and Tesco will all have stores open although many may be operating reduced opening times.

Customers are advised to check their local store opening hours.

It’s not just supermarket opening hours which could be affected by the bank holiday, however.

Many Post Offices will operate on shorter opening hours.

While most banks up and down the country will be closed for the May – or Spring – bank holiday.
