Baby in hospital with life-changing injuries after hit-and-run

A baby remains in hospital a month after they were seriously injured by a hit-and-run motorcyclist who police are appealing for help to track down. The 18-month-old child, who was in a buggy, and a 29-year-old woman were taken to hospital by ambulance after the collision.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s roads and transport policing command are investigating what happened.

Officers were called to the scene in Eltham Hill, Eltham, South-East London, at around 3pm on May 11.

They have now released images of the rider and ask anyone that recognises either to get in touch with the police to help with the ongoing investigation.

Detective Constable Tristan Hunter, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I would encourage anyone who knows who the rider might be to speak with us.

“They failed to stop at the scene following their reckless riding.

“A young child has suffered life-changing injuries that will continue to require ongoing treatment, including rehab.”
