Baby girl airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured in horror crash

A baby girl was seriously injured in a car crash as emergency services rushed to the spot to airlift her to hospital.

According to the police, the 18-month-old girl suffered serious injuries and was airlifted from the crash site in Probus, Cornwall, to hospital.

The police were called at around 5.35pm after reports of a collision involving a Kia XCeed. 

South Western Ambulance Service, Cornwall Air Ambulance and Devon and Cornwall Police attended the incident between Truro and St Austell.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told CornwallLive: “Police are investigating a road traffic collision in Probus, Cornwall, and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.”

The statement continued: “Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a grey Kia XCeed and an 18-month-old child on St Graces Court, Probus, at around 5.35pm on Friday, September 1. South Western Ambulance Service, Cornwall Air Ambulance and Devon and Cornwall Police attended the incident.

“As a result of the collision, an 18-month-old girl sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital. 

“Her condition has been described as stable.”

Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended the incident.

They conducted a thorough examination of the scene.
