Meghan and Harry close to ‘losing royal titles’ says host

Sky News Australia news host Alan Jones lashed out at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in an enraged rant. Following the announcement the pair had named their daughter Lilibet Diana, Mr Jones insisted their choice was an “absurd” name. He added that he believes the pair have used this as an olive branch to the Queen and Royal Family. Royal experts have however suggested the Duke of Sussex had informed Her Majesty of his plans to name his daughter after her.

Mr Jones claimed the decision to name their daughter Lilibet was not made out of a desire to reconcile with the family, but in hopes of ensuring the pair can keep their royal titles while they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.

Mr Jones said: “Let me tell you all something.

“It will take more than a baby name to make amends with the public and the Royal Family.

“As Warren Buffett once said, it takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.

“I suspect that Harry and Meghan know that.

“They are a coasters-width away from losing their royal titles.

“The pressure from Britain to make Meghan and Harry Mr and Mrs is building, that is what they are trying to resist.

“Tens of thousands of Britons are calling on the Queen to put their royal style, titles and rank into abeyance.”

He continued: “Of course, they know there is nothing commercial to be gained from being boring Mr and Mrs.

“But if he is trapped in the monarchy, as Harry claims, give up your title.

“Separate yourself from the monarchy and go off into the Californian sunset and stay there.”

Mr Jones also went into greater detail as to why he believed the name Lilibet was not fitting for Meghan and Harry’s daughter.

“The name is absurd, these two know they are on the ropes in the United Kingdom and with the Royal Family. This is sycophancy at its worst”

“It is also offensive, the late King George VI the Queen’s father fondly called his eldest Lilibet.

“A childhood nickname that has stuck throughout her life and was often used by Prince Philip in terms of affection and no one else.

“But these two Harry and Meghan have no shame, what on earth were they thinking using such an intimate and personal family nickname?”
