Harry and Meghan’s Christmas card has been revealed – and baby Archie takes centre stage.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are seen sitting by a Christmas tree in the black and white image, with their seven-month-old son gazing into the camera in the foreground.

It was not released through any official royal channels, first appearing on an unverified Twitter account called The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust.

The account shared the image as a gif, with the lights on the tree twinkling.

“Just sharing the sweetest Christmas Card from our President and Vice-President, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” the tweet read.

“Very Merry Christmas, everyone!”

A spokeswoman for the Sussexes confirmed the authenticity of the card.

It is understood that copies of the image, taken by couple’s friend Janina Gavankar, were emailed to friends and staff on Monday and hard copies sent to family.

Harry and Meghan are spending Christmas in Canada, as part of a six-week break.

They are likely to have spent Thanksgiving in the United States with the duchess’ mother Gloria Ragland.

It has already been announced that they will not be joining the Queen and other members of the Royal Family at Sandringham on Christmas Day.

The Queen is said to be supportive of their plans.

It follows the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s past decision to spend Christmas with Kate’s parents and not with the royals.

The Queen will talk about 2019 being a “bumpy” year and the importance of reconciliation in her annual Christmas message.

The references will be seen as a nod to political and personal turmoil of the past 12 months.

Her Majesty is filmed sitting at a desk featuring photographs of her family with a large Christmas tree in the background.

But there are no images of Harry and Meghan or Prince Andrew.

The Duke of York stepped back from public duties earlier this year over his links to billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
