Archie Harrison has not returned to the UK since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed they would be stepping away from their working royal positions last year. The Queen is however believed to have been able to see her great-grandson during video chat sessions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over the past twelve months. Despite concerns about Meghan and Harry’s relationship with the Royal Family in the aftermath of their unprecedented interview with Oprah Winfrey, Archie’s relationship with Her Majesty is not expected to be affected.
Speaking to the Today programme on Monday, royal commentator Omid Scobie said: “I remember sources telling me when Harry and Meghan were living at Frogmore Cottage, the Queen saw more of Archie than any other Royal Family member.
“I think that relationship has managed to survive through all of the difficulties the couple faced.
“It really showed how Harry and Meghan were able to distinguish the institution of the monarchy and the Royal Family.
“There’s a huge difference between the two and I think that sometimes gets lost.”

Mr Scobie however insisted the pair highlighted “how close” they have remained with Her Majesty since stepping down in March 2020.
The expert continued: “I think this is something that might surprise some people.
