Archie is already behaving like the perfect big brother with Lilibet Diana, the source suggested. The two-year-old has welcomed his little sister home and is reportedly giving her “lots of kisses” since her arrival.

An insider told Us Weekly: “They are already back home in Montecito with their baby girl.

“Archie absolutely adores his little sister and gives her lots of kisses.

“He’s held her with the help of his parents.”

Praising the toddler, the insider added Archie was “such a kind, loving child and there aren’t any jealousy issues”.

Meghan, Harry and Archie welcomed Lilibet Diana on Friday, June 4, but announced her birth to the world in a statement shared yesterday at 5pm.

It read: “It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world.

“Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11.40 am in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA.

“She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.”

The statement went on to explain the meaning behind the names chosen for the first daughter of Meghan and Harry.

It read: “Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet.

“Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.

“This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

“The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.”

Harry and Meghan also accompanied the official statement with a personal message of thanks, reading: “On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili.

“She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe.

“Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”

Much like his sister, Archie was given a name full of meaning.

As explained by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in mid-2020 upon confirming the name of their new organisation, Archewell, Archie’s name has its roots in the Greek world Archè.

In a statement in which they spoke about their new venture, Meghan and Harry said: “Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of ‘Arche’ — the Greek word meaning ‘source of action.’

“We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name.

“To do something of meaning, to do something that matters.”

Both Archie and Lili have a prominent position in the line of succession to the throne.

The Sussexes’ firstborn is currently seventh-in-line to the throne while his sister was born in the eighth position.

This means her birth pushed down the line to the throne several prominent and working members of the Firm, including Princess Anne and Prince Edward.

While they are in the line to the throne, Archie and Lili don’t have a royal title but will be eligible to become prince and princess when Prince Charles accedes to the throne.
