Archie christening: Which royals are there? Confirmed guest list and who is NOT attending

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is being baptised today exactly two months after he was born. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been criticised for refusing to make the service public and for keeping the names of their son’s godparents secret. Seventh-in-line to the throne Archie will be christened inside the Private Chapel of Windsor Castle well away from the view of well-wishers. The chapel, which was rebuilt entirely following the huge Windsor Castle blaze in 1992, can only accommodate up to 30 guests.

Several senior Royal Family members will be in attendance but not all of them following reports of a diary clash made by Harry and Meghan.

Here is who will be at Archie’s christening today

Baby Archie will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who officiated the marriage of the Harry and Meghan.

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla will be attending.

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall are believed to have travelled to Windsor Castle via a helicopter spotted landing in its grounds this morning.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were also seen arriving by into the rear entrance earlier today.

Prince William wore sunglasses and a white shirt as he drove while his wife Kate sat beside him in the passenger seat.

The other senior Royal Family member expected to attend is the Queen but she will be absent due to a prior engagement.

The Queen will be spending her weekend with husband Prince Philip at Sandringham enjoying some rest after a hectic week in Scotland on royal duties.

Her Majesty has been staying in her official residence, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, for a series of events marking Holyrood Week.

A royal source suggested yesterday Harry and Meghan had failed to check her diary in advance hence why she could not be there today.

However, Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland is expected to be there for her grandson’s baptism after flying in from Los Angeles.

With the guest list being so small, it is unlikely there will be a large number of celebrities in attendance.

Meghan’s good friend Serena Williams confirmed she will not be at the Windsor service today as she is scheduled to play two matches at Wimbledon.

When asked whether she would be attending by reporters, Serena replied: “No, I’m working on Saturday…so, she understands work.”

However, Meghan’s best pal Jessica Mulroney – the favourite to be a godparent – is believed to be going.
