Labour Councillor Neil Nerva made an emotional appeal to anti-vaxxers to stop block booking appointments explaining that people could die as a result of their brainless actions. After already refusing to take the vaccine and organising several protests in London, the ill-advised rebels have now gone a step further in their attempt to get their message across as they are deliberately trying to stop the public from getting their third shot. Mr Nerva insisted that he is delighted that around 300,000 people flocked to Wembley Stadium to get their booster jab in the hope of staying safe against Omicron.

But despite taking pride in how well things went at the mass vaccination event at England’s national stadium, there was an inescapable feeling that the anti-vaxxers’ actions took the gloss of an otherwise perfect day for Mr Neil as even more people could have had their third dose.

He revealed that they used “Mickey Mouse names” to block book appointments that disrupted the peaceful proceedings yesterday.

Talking to Nick Ferrari on LBC, he highlighted the gravity of their actions given that people in dire need of the vaccine to survive and protect others may have been forced to wait and queue longer, potentially leading to casualties.

He said: “It was incredibly well run and over 300,000 people were vaccinated.

“But it is true that there is a group of people who are trying to disrupt major vaccination centres by block booking using fake names using Mickey Mouse type names.

“Don’t do it! You are causing loss of life by behaving in this way.”

Mr Ferrari then asked Mr Nerva if anyone can just use any name without having to provide a passport or ID to get an appointment at any time.

He asked: “Would I be able then just to ring and book it under the name Julio Cesar? “

Mr Nerva replied that they took advantage of Eventbrite to make booking under fake names at any time causing major delays to those willing to get their shot.

He replied: “No, you can’t, the NHS website is a very secure website and to book you need to use your NHS number.

“What we were doing was opening vaccination up to people who may not be immediately aware of their NHS number. In the build-up to it we used Eventbrite because people are familiar with it, it’s easy to use. “

Mr Ferrari asked: “What is EventBrite?”

Mr Nerva said: “It’s the booking system which blocked the people use it.

It was basically saying along and book a time you want to come between 10 and 6.

No [you don’t have to provide your NHS number on it]. That’s where the issue is. There were people yesterday who turned up without a booking because they knew they could.

And there was no issue for them, they got through and they were vaccinated but there was a group of people who did not attend.”

Anti-vaxxers are a minority in the UK with around 76.5 per cent of the population having having had at least one dose.
