Andrew urged to move out of Royal Lodge

Prince Andrew was reportedly given the keys to Frogmore Cottage two months ago but is determined not to give up his current home on the Windsor Estate “without a fight”. Now, a new Express.co.uk poll has found 84 percent of readers think that the Duke of York should move out of the Royal Lodge.

The Duke of York has lived at the Royal Lodge for the last 20 years and has been offered to move to the former residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as part of a shake-up to the structure of royal households by King Charles III.

A royal insider told OK! magazine: “Andrew is adamant that he is staying at Royal Lodge for the remainder of his lease. He will not move into Frogmore without a fight. Royal Lodge is his home and he will do everything in his power to remain in the property.”

They added: “Prince Andrew was given the keys to Frogmore quite recently and was expected to move in this summer. Eugenie is currently staying there to help move out Harry and Meghan’s things while her dad tries to hold on to Royal Lodge. The handover date was expected in July or August but he’s not going anywhere.”

In response, Express.co.uk ran a poll from 1pm on Monday, April 3, to 2.15pm on Tuesday, April 11, asking readers: “Should Prince Andrew be allowed to stay at Royal Lodge?”

A total of 8,209 readers responded, with 84 percent (6,910 people) answering, “no”, he should be evicted, compared to 15 percent (1,194 people) who said, “yes”, he should be allowed to stay. Just one percent (105 people) said they did not know either way.

In the comments left below the accompanying article, readers debated Andrew’s living arrangements.

And username Scatterling added: “If he can afford to keep up the repairs and maintenance then yes he should stay.”
