Andrew Neil issues general election prediction – vows to never believe Jeremy Corbyn again
In an interview with Good Morning Britain, Andrew Neil revealed his take on the likelihood of a general election soon. Host Susanna Reid asked him: “What’s going to happen?” The BBC presenter joked: “I have no idea.”
The GMB host said: “I remember sitting next to you at a lovely lunch and you gave me a very detailed explanation of what was going to happen next.
“And, as you said, within 24 hours all of that had gone out the window.”
Mr Neil said: “If I had been here 2 weeks ago, I would have said there would be an election in October.
“Last week, I would have said there would be an election in November.”
He added: “Now I’m not so sure.”
Ms Reid said: “There has to be an election soon.
“Either a referendum or a general election.”
Mr Neil said: “This is something of a zombie parliament now.”
He continued: “Even with the DUP, the Government’s in the wrong end of 40 votes.
“So it won’t get its Queens Speech through, it couldn’t get a budget through.
“But it could just stagger through.”

“Won’t make that mistake again.”
The Prime Minister called for a general election twice, but the motion was rejected in the House of Commons both times.
