Andrew Neil forced to END fiery interview as Ben Sharpio walks out – ‘Never heard of you’

Ben Shapiro told BBC presenter Andrew Neil he had “never heard of him” during an intense interview. The American political commentator lashed out at Mr Neil, accusing him of being a “badly motivated” interviewer. Mr Shapiro added he was “not inclined to continue” the debate, forcing Mr Neil to terminate the interview. Mr Shapiro blasted: “Frankly I find this whole thing a waste of time. If you want to read the book and critique the book why don’t you read and critique the book. If you want to critique me, you can think whatever you want of me.

“Frankly, I don’t care. I don’t frankly give a damn what you think of me because I’ve never heard of you.”

Mr Neil asked: “Why don’t you just try and answer the questions? And I’ve never heard of you until I briefed myself on this. But that’s not the issue.”

Mr Shapiro replied: “Then why the hell are you interviewing me?”

The BBC host explained: “It’s an interesting book. But my point is your book claims that society – “

The American commentator interrupted: “Well it would be nice if you would quote it from time to time.”

Mr Neil continued: “Well actually I have done so several times and I’m about to do so again if you would let me just finish the question.

“Your book claims that society is turning back on Judeo-Christian values, what are the values it’s turning its back on?”

Mr Shapiro said: “I’m not inclined to continue an interview with a person as badly motivated as you as an interviewer.

“So I think we’re done here. I appreciate your time Sir thank you so much.”

Mr Neil terminated the interview, firing back: “Alright well thank you for your time and for showing that anger is not part of American political discourse Mr Shapiro.

“We’ll say goodbye.”

The interview follows Mr Shapiro releasing a new book ‘The Right Side of History: How Reason and Moral Purpose Made the West Great’.
