BBC presenters Simon McCoy and Ben Rich engaged in a hilarious exchange of banter as Mr Rich took a swipe at Mr McCoy for his apparent excessive use of hairspray. Mr Rich joked that after the Westminster Media teams had left for Parliament Easter break there were Simon McCoy hairspray cans littered around the area. The BBC News presenter began by saying: “Okay let’s have a look at the weather Ben Rich is here, that is Westminster, that was my home.

“They have ripped it all down, that was where the entire media team was.”

Mr Rich replied: “It is indeed Westminster I was going to ask if you were feeling homesick.

“I think we saw over some of the news packages over the weekend there was quite a lot of litter.

“There was even Simon McCoy’s hairspray can I think in a lovely arty shot in one of the shots over the weekend.”

As the weather presenter grinned cheekily the BBC news presenter began laughing while pointing at Mr Rich.

While shaking his head in disbelief Mr McCoy said he would let that joke go.

Mr Rich smiled and said: “I’m sure I will be got in the end.”

Mr McCoy playfully replied: “Oh, you will pay for that.”

The pair then moved on to agree that the weather was currently “beautiful” in Westminster with a lot of sunshine.

Parliament have now taken a break from Brexit as MPs have been dismissed for Easter break.

MPs are expected to return on April 23, 2019.
