Amazon worker quits job after winning £10,000 every month for 30 years

An Amazon worker has quit his job and started on his bucket list after scooping £3.2 million on the lottery.

Dean Weymes, 24, waved goodbye to his job after finding out he won £10,000 per month for the next 30 years on the National Lottery’s Set For Life draw on July 29.

He said: ‘It is an incredible feeling that I will be getting £10,000 every month for 30 years – I literally am living the dream!’

He will now be writing scripts, taking a hot air balloon ride and doing a tandem skydive as part of his bucket list.

Mr Weymes, who worked shifts and weekends in the transport team at Amazon before the win, added: ‘I studied screenwriting at university as this has always been a passion of mine but I have never been able to do anything with this.

‘I love films and the theatre and now I can do something with this!’

Mr Weymes, who currently lives with his sister Sarah in Peterborough, plans to put down a deposit on his own home as soon as he can.

He will also take his sister, who introduced him to the lottery game he won, to Disneyland with the rest of his family.

Mr Weymes is the fourth person to win the top prize since the game launched in March, and the first of them to go public.

He was playing for the first time online when his Lucky Dip ticket matched five main numbers and one Life Ball.

He added. ‘Everything still seems quite unreal – the news really is still sinking in.’
