An Amazon driver managed to cool off in style while making deliveries this week.

A home-owner in Gardena, California had left a note by their pool to say ‘if you want to go for a swim, you are welcome to.’

Temperatures in the area are currently reaching around 30°C during the day.

After dropping off his parcel at the home, an Amazon employee noticed the message and approached the pool’s diving board.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he then leapt into the pool.

The dive was captured on a nearby security camera and has since been shared widely on social media.

Nina James wrote: ‘Well done home owner. But bet the driver wishes he’d take off some of his clothes first.’

Maksim Lezginov quipped: ‘Guess he wanted to be an Amazon diver instead.’

There he blows!

While many celebrated the kind homeowner and enthusiastic delivery driver, some raised eyebrows at his decision to jump in fully-clothed.

Julie Anderson commented: ‘I’m more troubled by the shoes in the pool.’

Others claimed the weather wasn’t warm enough to justify a dip, with many in states such as Texas stressing what constitutes ‘real’ heat.

Temperatures have spiked in areas of the United States which, like much of Europe, is witnessing a heatwave.

Tourists have even flocked to Death Valley in anticipation of weather records being broken.

Steve Curry, 71, lost his life over the weekend after spending hours in the park in Southern California, US, where temperatures reached 53°C on Sunday.

Officials believe he died from heat-related issues.

Mr Curry’s death occurred just hours after speaking to a Los Angeles Times reporter about hiking in the heat while he took a break for some rare shade under a metal interpretative sign.
