Kate and Prince William made a joint appearance at the women’s singles finals at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships on Sunday. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge “stepped out in style” to watch finalists Ash Barty and Karolina Pliskova compete for the trophy. The outing was Kate’s first public appearance since self-isolating after coming into contact with someone who tested positive with Covid-19.

E! News reported, “The Duchess of Cambridge was all smiles as she stepped out with husband Prince William to attend the women’s singles finals.”

“The two stepped out in style for the summer occasion.”

“Kate is wearing a green-capped sleeve Emilia Wickstead dress with white pumps while William wore a light blue suit.”

Kate stepped out to present the trophy to the winner, Australian Ash Barty and congratulated both finalists at the end of the game.

The couple were joined in the Royal Box by Emma Raducanu, the 18-year-old who was forced to withdraw from the competition after suffering breathing difficulties.

Kate is known for being a keen tennis fan and is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

Since her marriage to Prince William in 2011, she has regularly attended the annual tournament and is often spotted in the Royal Box.

Her appearance at the finals signalled the end of her self-isolating period, which she began after receiving word that she had come into contact with someone who had Covid-19.

She was notified on Friday, July 2 whilst she was at Wimbledon and immediately returned to Kensington Palace.

Kensington Palace released a statement to say, “Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home.”

Both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are fully vaccinated and are tested twice a week.

Under current Covid-19 guidelines, Prince William did not need to self-isolate and continued with his public engagements.

Whilst isolating, Kate was forced to miss the NHS service at St Paul’s Cathedral and an afternoon tea at Buckingham Palace for key workers.

Her and Prince William’s arrival at Wimbledon yesterday signalled her return to public life.

Kate is also attending the men’s singles finals this afternoon and has been spotted with her father, Michael Middleton.

Prince William is not attending as he will later be going to Wembley Stadium to support England in the European Championship finals.
