‘All about you!’ Nigel Farage lashes out at BBC host Nick Robinson after fierce accusation
Boris Johnson recently warned the Brexit Party is out of date and told his supporters that Nigel Farage’s party is not a threat. During an interview on the prospect of a Leave Alliance, BBC host Nick Robinson accused Mr Farage of making it “all about” himself. Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme, Mr Robinson said: “You see, aren’t you at risk of becoming the man who can’t take yes for an answer?
“It’s all about you, you want to be at the centre of this, you can’t give it up Mr Farage.
“You wanted a referendum, you’re going to get Brexit and you can’t give up.”
The Brexit Party leader hit back: “If it was all about me I’d be standing, wouldn’t I? But I’m not.
“I’m going around the country, spreading this message far and wide, supporting our 600 candidates.
“And still, I may be wrong, but I still think there’s a chance of a Leave Alliance being put together.
“Because on the current policy that Boris is offering, it will unravel over the course of the next five weeks.
“And there’s still 10 days for him to change tack, I hope he does.”
Mr Johnson recently attacked the Brexit Party, describing it as “outdated”.
The Prime Minister said: “My friends, they are like candle-sellers at the dawn of the electric light bulb. Or the makers of typewriters on beholding their first laptop computer. They have a terrible sense that they are about to lose their market.”
Speaking in Birmingham, Mr Johnson further attacked MPs as he told supporters: “We have a Parliament that is paralysed, blocked. This Parliament refused to get Brexit done and that is bad for our democracy because we asked the people of this country if they wanted to stay in the EU.
“We told them time and again we would honour their decision. We told them whatever they voted for we would put it into effect. The whole Brexit debate is holding us all back, the uncertainty and delay are bad for the country.
