Alastair Campbell LOSES IT as he claims Brexit has proven to be ‘UNDELIVERABLE’
Alastair Campbell claimed the British Government would not be able to deliver to the people the Brexit they wanted because of the “lies” Brexiteers fed to voters. Mr Campbell insisted Britain should agree to take part in the European Union’s elections to be represented in the EU Parliament if Brussels agrees to a further delay of the Brexit process. Speaking to Sky News, the former Labour spin doctor said: “The message it sends is that this process is in chaos and it’s in chaos because Brexit, as it was promised, is undeliverable.
“Therefore, don’t blame me for this, don’t blame the people who voted for it.
“You have to put the blame at the door of those people – some of them still in the Cabinet – who told a pack of lies about what Brexit was going to mean and how easy it was going to be.”
Theresa May announced on Tuesday her Government would seek a further delay to Brexit after she failed to secure the support of Parliament for her proposed withdrawal agreement three times since January.
To agree to a delay past the current April 12 deadline, Brussels could however demand Britain field candidates for the European election expected to take place between May 23 and May 26.

Mr Campbell insisted the Labour Party, whose leader Jeremy Corbyn was asked to join talks with Mrs May to try and break the Parliamentary impasse, should not be afraid to take part in the round of EU vote because of the increasing support for the bloc in Britain.
He added: “The biggest pro-European movement in Europe is now in the UK.
“I don’t think the people on my side of the argument should fear the European election.”
MPs on Wednesday voted on whether additional time should be put aside on Monday for the Commons to have another chance to try and find a majority for a Brexit deal.
The vote resulted in a 310-301 tie, forcing John Bercow to cast the deciding vote against the motion. The last time the Speaker of the House was forced to personally intervene was in 1993 under the direction of Betty Boothroyd, who supported a Government motion to defeat the Social Chapter of the EU Maastricht Treaty.
Before the result was announced, staunch Brexiteer MP Mark Francois mockingly suggested MPs should vote again: “Can we have a people’s vote and do it twice?”
The motion was seeking to secure the time needed to hold a third round of indicative votes after Parliament failed to find common ground on the favoured Brexit option on Monday April, 1 and last Wednesday.
All options put to the vote over the past two weeks were flatly rejected, forcing Theresa May to hold a tense Cabinet meeting with her top ministers before announcing plans to request a further extension to the Brexit process.
The UK is scheduled to quit the European Union on April 12 at 11pm unless Brussels agrees to a further extension or Mrs May secures support for her withdrawal deal – which was defeated three times since January.
Theo Usherwood, political editor of LBC, tweeted MPs are now demanded a vote on Mrs May’s leadership after much “fury” across the powerful 1922 Committee, adding she cannot be ousted due to a one-year “grace period”.
One MP told LBC’s political editor Theo Usherwood there was a lot of “fury” among the party as a result of her talks with the leader of the opposition.
