Pictures show a red car has been smashed up outside the Worlds End pub on Silver Street after the accident. The serious incident has led to significant traffic in the local area. 

Travel Somerset tweeted: “#A38 in both directions partially blocked, queuing traffic due to accident, at Silver Street.

“W/Bound queues to Texaco station roundabout and to Travelodge roundabout for traffic heading E/Bound.

“O/s The Worlds End Pub. Affecting traffic between Taunton and Wellington.”

Other social media users soon took to Twitter.

Five Live Travel said: “One lane #closed and queueing traffic due to broken down vehicle on #M6 Southbound between J6 A38 Tyburn Road (#Spaghetti Junction) and J5 #A452.”

Busses of Somerset said “Service 22/22A an accident by the Worlds End Pub on the A38 will cause delays this evening. 3 vehicles involved.”
