McKillen Jr in bid to bring Dean Hotel to cities across Europe
Press Up Entertainment, the fast-growing hospitality group headed up by developers Paddy McKillen Jr and Matt Ryan, has begun a Europe-wide search for locations in a bid to establish its Dean Hotel brand across the Continent.
Real estate advisers JLL have been engaged to seek out opportunities in central locations in London, Paris, Berlin, Milan and Amsterdam. Press Up says it will consider locating in other major cities on a “case-by-case basis”.
The company is seeking properties with the capacity for at least 2,500 sq m (26,909 sq ft) to 10,000 sq m (107,639 sq ft) of space. Office buildings with the potential for conversion to hotel usage will also be considered as part of its search. Press Up’s brief stipulates that the properties must be able to accommodate a rooftop restaurant extending to between 400 sq m (4,305 sq ft) and 800 sq m (8.611 sq ft).
Outlining Press Up’s plans for international expansion, JLL describes the company as an “experienced hotel operator and developer, with cash funds ready to deploy”.
Press Up Entertainment currently owns and operates 42 businesses and employs 1,500 people in Ireland. The company has interests in hotels, bars, restaurants, venues and nightclubs. These include: The Dean Hotel, the Devlin Hotel, the Garage Bar, Workman’s Club, the Liquor Rooms, Vintage Cocktail Club, Angelina’s, Dollard & Co, Roberta’s, and Tomahawk Steakhouse.
