With next season's Premier League football being shared between Sky, BT Sport and Amazon Prime Video, it can be hard to work out which services you need to be signed up to to catch the whole season – and how to do so without bankrupting yourself.

The cost of getting BT on Sky and vice versa can be costly, with Virgin Media tallying up how much money you can save if you sign up to Virgin Media's Bigger+ Sports bundle, which has traditionally been the cheapest for getting both Sky and BT Sports together.

On Virgin Media's bundle, football fans can watch Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Europa League football on Sky Sports and BT Sport in one place for £65 a month – £463 cheaper than Sky over the duration of 12 months.

For £65 a month, new customers will get access to all Sky Sports channels in HD as well as BT Sport in HD and 4K Ultra HD, making it the cheapest like-for-like deal that includes TV, broadband and a phone package.

Meanwhile, average monthly costs for Sky are £103.58 , whilst TalkTalk is £95.66 and BT £86.68.

As for the Amazon Prime games, Sky are still yet to integrate the streaming service with the rest of its channels, whilst Virgin Media is one step ahead, having recently added the app to its TV platform, meaning no flipping between different apps and casting devices. As all Virgin Media bundles come loaded with ultrafast connectivity, it also means that you can use Virgin Media's speedy internet to stream Amazon Prime's games.

However, Prime itself doesn't come included in your monthly total, so you will need to pay for that separately if you aren't already, costing you an extra £7.99 per month on top (or £79 one-off for a year's access), for the full Amazon Prime subscription (including their free one-day delivery).

Alternatively, Now TV are also currently offering 40% off their football season ticket, offering 10 months of Now TV Sky Sports access for a one-off payment of £199 – although this will only give you access to the 128 live Premier League games on Sky, and of course no broadband, phone or other non-sport TV channels.

When it comes to who's showing what, Sky has most games, followed by BT, with Amazon Prime holding two rounds of fixtures in December for the first time.

• Package 6 – 10 matches shown on Amazon on one bank holiday during the season and 10 matches on Boxing Day.
• Package 7 – 20 matches shown on BT Sport from two midweek fixture weeks.
