Landlord tells tenants to take turns sleeping in single bed in cramped house ad

Renting can be an absolute nightmare.

There are huge deposits to cobble together at a moment's notice. There are grim, damp flats, nightmare landlords and blood-sucking letting agents.

Then there's this advert, which is in a whole league of its own.

We all know the competition to secure rented accommodation can be fierce – no matter what condition the flat or house is in – but one property seems to have taken it to the next level.

In an ad, an Australian landlord advertises his flat, which costs costs £66.

We're guessing that's per week, but who knows – especially when you consider what one of the stipulations is.

As well as the house rules being cosily scrawled all over the walls, the landlord states that the flat is for two people.

Confoundingly, there's just one single bed though.

But it's OK, because the landlord has it figured out – tenants can just take it in turns to sleep in the bed.

The landlord goes on to say that the space is perfect for shift workers, who can alternate sleeping in the bed depending on their working hours.

"Rooms to rent. Available. Two night time workers, two day time workers. Message for more details, ideal shift workers," the ad reads.

Images of the ad popped up on Kmart Unhacks & Roasts Facebook group, Metro reports.

Group members quickly picked up on the conditions of the flat and pointed out an even more distressing fact:

"It's pretty sad that for a lot of people, this would be all they could afford. A shared bed in a s*** hole," one woman wrote.
