Royal Wedding 2019: Could Meghan Markle show up at Lady Gabriella Windsor wedding?

Royal weddings have been popular national events throughout history and in particular since they became a “must be at” event, whether you’re an invited guest or an avid fan glued to your TV. Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston are due to get hitched this month, following on with the royal wedding fever of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank last year. But given Meghan Markle has just given birth, is it possible she will show up at Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding or not?

Lady Gabriella, the Queen’s cousin once removed and 52nd in line to the throne, got engaged to Mr Kingston in August 2018 on the Isle of Sark.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Lady Gabriella’s wedding will take place on Saturday, May 18, one day before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first wedding anniversary.

Like Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding last year, Lady Gabriella and her husband to-be will marry in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The service is due to start at 12pm and will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor.

As Meghan and Harry now live on the estate, it is expected that the party will be an afternoon affair, to ensure that baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s sleep is not disrupted.

The wedding is due to be a quieter and more private affair that the weddings of Meghan and Princess Eugenie.

There will reportedly be no carriage procession or members of the public invited into the grounds of the castle.

But if you were hoping to celebrate in your own way and watch at home, you’ll be disappointed to find out that Lady Gabriella’s wedding will not be televised.

A Buckingham Palace source told PEOPLE: “It will be a private wedding for family and friends.”

The Queen announced earlier this year she would be attending the royal wedding of her cousin’s daughter this summer.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the news after months of speculation in a statement last week.

A statement read: “The wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor and Mr Thomas Kingston will take place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on Saturday 18th May 2019.

“The wedding will be attended by Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by Members of the Royal Family.

“The marriage ceremony will commence at 12pm, conducted by the Dean of Windsor, The Right Revd David Conner.”

Lady Gabriella’s brother Lord Frederick Windsor married Sophie Winkleman in Hampton Court in Surrey in front television stars and members of the royal family, such as the Duke and Duchess of Kent and Princess Eugenie.

The Queen, however, as well as the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, and Princes William and Harry could not be there for the happy day.

But it seems that things are different for Lady Gabriella’s big moment.

The exact members of the royal family that will be attending with the Queen have yet to be confirmed.

The wedding, due to take place in nine days, will be happening when Archie Harrison is just 12 days old.

Given that baby Archie will be so young, there is wide speculation whether Meghan Markle will attend alongside the Queen and other members of the royal family.

As a new mum it seems unlikely that Meghan would attend the wedding.

But as Meghan calls Frogmore Estate, the location of the wedding, home, it is also possible she might pop along to pass on her congratulations.

Dad Prince Harry returned to work today visiting The Hague for the one-year countdown to his charity event the Invictus Games 2020.

The Duke is back to work just three days after the birth of his son, which shows that the young couple might well be prepared to return to the hustle and bustle of the royal day job.
