They say lookalikes may earn between £50 and £150 for a 15-minute Zoom chat, or even £600 for a guest appearance at clubs and bars when lockdown ends.

Andy Harmer, who owns Lookalikes Agency, said: “If we recruited a Sir Tom Moore, Joe Wicks or Chris Whitty, they’d be on £500 or £600 for a few hours for an appearance.

“We’re doing an awful lot of video messages at the moment for when people want something special.”

“For a Zoom chat they could get anything between £50 and £150, for sitting at home for five minutes.”

Andy also revealed Brits have been playing hilarious pranks with their pals online.

He said: “I did a Vladimir Putin in the week on a Zoom call. One guy, for his 50th Birthday was stuck in Lockdown in Moscow, so his mate organised Vladimir Putin to go on his Zoom chat and surprise him.”

'They're national heroes'

Another lookalike talent boss said: “It’s a great opportunity.

"These are people who have become household names from being on our TV screens every day and night and all over the internet.

“They’re national heroes. They’re either leading the fight against coronavirus, raising millions for charity because of it or just cheering people up and getting them fit and healthy.

“They’ll stick with people for a long time and that means it’s great for anybody who looks like them. “

Any suitable doubles could eventually find themselves on TV, doing photo shoots and even being booked for movies.

But Andy, a former David Beckham double warned: “It’s not for everybody, because sometimes you have to turn up in front of two hundred people, and they’ll stare and scrutinise you. It helps if you’re a bit out going.”
