Woman who thinks she’s Madeleine McCann does karaoke and plays ‘beautiful music’

A 21-year-old woman who thinks she could be Madeleine McCann, has been showing off her surprising musical talent as she awaits the results of a DNA ancestry test.

Julia Wendell, the young Polish woman who first sparked international controversy several weeks ago with her outlandish claims, can be belting out bangers in a karaoke bar and playing one of her own songs at a posh piano.

Videos of Julia, also known as Julia Faustyna, have been uploaded to Instagram by Dr Fia Johansson, the self-styled “Persian Medium” who is supporting Julia's pursuit of answers.

Julia’s own social media accounts have been closed down in response to the aggressive comments – and occasional death threats – left by people who don’t believe her story.

Commenting on the clips, Dr Johansson writes: “I’m so sorry for all the unnecessary pain you've been through since you were little. I am so proud of you and the beautiful music you've created.

“I'm blown away that you’ve taken your hurt and turned them into 72 songs written and composed all by yourself.

“It’s time for each and every survivor of abuse out there, it's time to get connected with your strength and talent, my team and I are here to help you get up and stand up for yourself!”.

Julia bases her claims on her resemblance to the missing girl, as well as a strange lack of memories of her earlier life.

She told US TV’s Dr Phil about her earliest memory: "I have some single memories since eight, nine years old.

"And before eight, I have only this one memory with beach and water, like sea or ocean, and there were turtles and children trying to catch the turtles and take them in their hands.

"And I remembered light-coloured buildings, like white or very light colours, sunlight on this building."

Dr Johansson has suggested that this could be a half-buried memory of Praia da Luz – the Portuguese resort from where Madeleine disappeared in 2007.

In a bid to prove her claim, Julia has sent off three DNA samples for forensic analysis as well as a genetic test to establish her ancestry.

In response Julia's family has release a statement denying her claims: “We have memories, we have pictures,” they wrote. “Julia also has these photos, because she took them from the family home with the birth certificate, as well as numerous hospital discharges.”

Expressing their hurt at her campaign, they added: "Julia once wanted to be a singer, a model. She always wanted to be popular. What's happening now is she [has] 1 million followers… We are devastated at this current situation."
