Woman accused of posing as photographer to drug moms, steal babies
A woman posing as an amateur photographer allegedly fed a Washington state mom a “drugged” cupcake in a sick attempt to sedate her and steal her baby, officials said this week.
The unsuspecting mom from Spanaway, outside Tacoma, hired suspect Juliette Parker, 38 from a Facebook ad in which she offered free newborn photography in order to build her portfolio, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
In three photo sessions with the mother and newborn, Parker behaved strangely, taking selfies with the tot and making sure to wipe her own fingerprints from objects around the houses, authorities said.
During her last visit, on Feb. 5 Parker — who made a failed bid for mayor of Colorado Springs last year — brought her 16-year-old daughter, and offered the mom a cupcake, police said.
The victim ate it, and and suddenly felt drowsy and numb, and began to vomit, said authorities.
“The victim told firefighters that she believed that she had been drugged,” authorities said.
Police did not identify what substance was in the allegedly tainted treat.
The mom managed to kick Parker and her daughter out, noticed her keys were missing, and called 911.
Pierce County deputies arrested Parker and her daughter on Friday. They face multiple felony charges.
Authorities say Parker, who also goes by ‘Juliette Noel’ and ‘Juliette Gains,’ targeted other women with girls younger than five weeks old in what authorities believe was an effort to steal the tot and raise the child as her own.
This isn’t Parker’s first-run in with the law. In 2014, she was caught hiking at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington and charged with trespassing and larceny.
