William vowed to get Diana her title back after finding her sobbing in bathroom

Prince William made a heartbreaking promise to mum Princess Diana after finding her sobbing in a bathroom.

As a 10-year-old, the Duke of Cambridge, now 38, vowed to give his mum her royal title back when he became king after her marriage to Prince Charles ended.

"Don’t worry, Mummy, I will give it back to you one day when I am King," he added.

Later, Diana is understood to have confided in a friend that William was "an extraordinary moral support" and he promised to always look after her.
