She was confronted by her estranged husband, shotgun in hand, a rage in his eyes she had seen before.

Who was Cheryl Hooper?

Cheryl Hooper was the estranged wife of farmer Andrew Hooper.

She had a 14-year-old daughter, Georgia, who was living with her at the time.

Cheryl had moved out of his 400-acre farm in Guild Lane, near Newport, Shropshire.

She had just had an altercation with her ex, Andrew Hooper, outside a pub in Wolverhampton where he had exchanged words with a man with her group.

Her estranged husband later turned up at her home, as she was sat in her car, brandishing a shotgun.

Cheryl's daughter Georgia has recounted how her mother screamed "Oh my god, he's here", shortly before she was shot.

Hooper smashed the window open with the weapon and fired two shots at her, one of which pierced her neck.

14-year-old Georgia could be heard screaming to neighbours "he’s shot my mum”.

Andrew Cooper later turned the gun on himself in a botched suicide attempt with caused him serious facial damage.

Unable to speak at the trial, Andrew Hooper had to type out his answers on a keypad in the court.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment with the judge stating he would serve no less than 31 years.

Did Cheryl Hooper have any children?

Cheryl Hooper had one daughter who, at the time of her murder, was 14-years-old.

Georgia was witness to her mother's murder on the doorstep of their own house and had to give evidence in court during the trial.
