ANDREA Meza was crowned Miss Universe 2021 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Florida on May 16.

The Miss Mexico contestant beat more than 70 other hopefuls in the delayed 69^th instalment of the competition. But who is the model and who is her boyfriend? Here’s what you need to know.

Who is Miss Universe Andrea Meza?

Andrea Meza is a Mexican model, and the current beauty pageant title holder of Miss Universe 2020.

She is reportedly the third Mexican woman to ever win the crown, following Lupita Jones and Ximena Navarrete.

She had previously been crowned Mexicana Universal 2020 and Miss Mexico 2020.

The 26-year-old hails from the city of Chihuahua and reportedly grew up in a large family – including two sisters and 40 cousins.

She is now an official Tourism Brand Ambassador for the city – promoting the best tourist attractions and cultural activities.

According to her contestant profile, the model is a certified make-up artist and graduated with a degree in software engineering in 2017.

Through her pageantry, Meza has become an activist focused on women’s rights and inclusion.

This includes her current work with the Municipal Institute for Women, which aims to end gender violence.

During the final statement round, Andrea was asked about the changing beauty standards.

Speaking via a translator she said: “We live in a society that is more than advanced, and as we advance as a society, we’ve also advanced with stereotypes. Nowadays, beauty isn’t only the way we look.

“For me, beauty radiates not only in our spirit, but in our hearts and the way that we conduct ourselves. Never permit anyone to tell you that you’re not valuable.”

Who is Andrea Meza's boyfriend Diego Garcy?

According to WhosDatedWho, Andrea Meza is dating Diego Garcy.

Garcy is also a Mexican model and is the former winner of Mr Mexico.

He made history after being crowned the winner of Mister Supranational 2016 – becoming the first Mexican to do so.  

The 30-year-old stands 1.89 m-tall and hails from Zapopan, Mexico.

Garcy holds a degree in Business Administration, and is also known for having a keen interest for football.

The popular Mexican model currently has 66,000 followers on Instagram and regularly posts snaps of his body, alongside a selection of workout videos.

Garcy recently used the social media platform to launch his new sports-wear brand, 'Diego Garcy Sports Wear.'

In a caption next to his promotional video he said:  “They do not know the personal pride of seeing how we are growing."
