Who are John Lennon's sons Sean and Julian?

DECEMBER 8 marks the 41st anniversary of John Lennon's death and his widow Yoko Ono used this anniversary to speak out against gun violence.

The Beatles star was shot four times outside The Dakota in New York City in 1980, leaving behind his wife and sons, Sean and Julian.

Who are John Lennon's sons Sean and Julian?

Julian Lennon

John Lennon's first son, Julian, 58, was born on April 8, 1963, in Liverpool where he currently still resides.

His father married his first wife, Cynthia, in 1962 but the couple divorced four years later when Julian was only five years old.

Julian was the inspiration for three of the Beatles most famous songs, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, Hey Jude, and Good Night.

Like his father, Julian produced a number of albums, his first being Valotte in 1984, and had two top ten singles in the UK with Too Late For Goodbyes in 1984 and Saltwater in 1991.

Julian has also held exhibitions in photography and has produced environmental documentaries.

His most recent documentary, Women of the White Buffalo, came out on March 31 this year and tells the story of an indigenous woman who strives to uphold her tribe's values and customs.

Sean Lennon

John Lennon's second son, Sean, 46, is Julian's half-brother. He was born to John Lennon's second wife Yoko Ono and Sir Elton John was made his godfather.

Sean shares a birthday with his late father who was born on October 9, 1975.

He attended pre-school in Tokyo and went on to attend an exclusive boarding school in Rolle, Switzerland, the Institut Le Rosey.

Sean later attended Columbia University for three semesters before dropping out to focus on his music.

Like his older half-brother, Sean is a musician and producer and appeared to be a carbon copy of his father when he was spotted in New York City on September 30, 2021.

Sean was seen to be sporting the same long hairstyle, glasses, and clothing style his late father had worn while on a date with his girlfriend, Charlotte Kemp Muhl34.

Did Yoko Ono have any miscarriages?

In August 1968, Yoko Ono suffered a miscarriage but the baby's fetal heartbeat was recorded before she lost the child.

The heartbeat was included in Lennon and Ono's 1969 Album Life With Lions which was followed by two minutes of silence.

In an interview with the LA Times in 1990, Yoko Ono admitted she also had a number of abortions.

"I had abortions," she said. "But who didn’t? Look, I was certainly no match for John, in that sense.

"If a woman has more than one man, she’s considered a wh*re; if a man has more than one woman, he’s a ladies’ man. I was no match for John."

In the interview, Yoko Ono was also quoted as having previously said, "I was always having abortions because I was too neurotic to take precautions".
