Joe Biden’s two German Shepherds have both been removed from the White House and sent back to his family home in Delaware after the younger of the two – Major – had a “biting incident”. When asked about the incident, White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki told the press that a “minor injury” had occurred.

In the statement on March 9, Psaki said: “Champ and Major, the President and First Lady’s dogs, members of the family, are still getting acclimated and accustomed to their new surroundings and new people.

“On Monday, the first family’s younger dog, Major, was surprised by an unfamiliar person and reacted in a way that resulted in a minor injury to the individual.”

Psaki added that the injury was treated by the White House medical unit and required “no further treatment.”

As of yet, there has been no updates on the condition of the agent.

Champ and Major moved into the White House within a week of Joe Biden’s inauguration in January.

On the dogs’ removal from the White House, Psaki said: “It had been previously planned already for the dogs to be cared for by family friends in Delaware during Dr. Biden’s travels to military bases this week.

“She has a three-day trip this week.

“And the dogs will return to the White House soon.”

In a recent interview with talk show host Kelly Clarkson, Jill Biden said she has been preoccupied with getting the dogs settled at the White House.

“I’ve been obsessed with getting our dogs settled because we have (an) old dog and we have a very young dog,” said the first lady.

Their oldest dog, Champ, is 13 while their younger dog, Major, who caused the biting incident is only 3.

When asked if she could reassure the public that Major Biden will be not euthanized as a result of the accident, Psaki said: “Major Biden is a member of the family. So I can assure you that.”

While Psaki could not give an update on the likelihood of a White House cat, she said: “We know the cat will break the internet, but I don’t have any update on its status.”
