UK weather LIVE: ‘African heat bulge’ to see temperatures SURGE amid heavy rain – forecast

Briton was blanketed by dense fog over the weekend following Bonfire Night which impacted air conditions. A weather anomaly is forecast to bring warm sunshine and higher than average temperatures for the next 16 days in November as a result of a 700-mile wide band of subtropical air arriving from the Azores leading to weather rising up to 6C on average temperatures.

Key points:

  • On Saturday parts of England saw temperatures surge to hit 19C.
  • Conditions are expected to be often cloudy with some lingering fog and showery rain for many on Monday.
  • The best of the sunshine is expected across northern Scotland.
  • The Environment Agency has issued flood alerts for Monday warning flooding is possible in some regions.

Weather forecasters predict many southern areas of the UK will experience mild conditions on Monday.

However, showery rain is likely to push across northern and easter areas of Britain.

The heaviest rainfall is anticipated across western regions.
