UK weather forecast: UK set to bask in heatwave – Met Office warns ‘TEMPERATURES RISING’
Following a batch of unusually cold weather at the start of May, temperatures will rise to almost to the mid-20s the Met Office has confirmed. Although by the afternoon there will be widespread sunshine across the country, the Met Office did also confirm that it will be a chilly start on Tuesday morning. Those slightly cold temperatures will once again return in the evening but nonetheless, for many, there will “plenty of blue sky” across the UK.
Commenting on the forecast Met Office Meteorologist Alex Deakin said: “It’s going to be another sunny day.
“It will be a bit breezy along the English channel coast but for most places lots of sunshine.
“Some cloud will bubble up through the day but temperatures will be rising throughout the rest of the day.”
Mr Deakin also added that despite the chilly start to the day temperatures will be “warmer than Monday” as Britons finally get to enjoy the start of the Summer.
He also stated that temperatures will rise throughout the afternoon and will hit the mid to low 20sC.
For those in the Highlands of Scotland, it will be the warmest of all where temperatures could hit 23C.
There will be a slight breeze throughout the afternoon but despite that it will still remain a warm day.
Approaching the end of the afternoon Mr Deakin insisted that the sunshine will continue although there will be a steep drop in temperatures.
He added: “For most places, it’s gonna be a cracking end to the day.
“But quite quickly those temperatures will be falling once more and it will turn a bit chilly yet again on Wednesday morning so again expect a fresh start to the day.”
Despite that “fresh start” Mr Deakin warned that there will be more sunshine for many across the UK.
In what will come as welcome news to many, he also added that it could even get warmer on Wednesday.
