UK weather forecast: Sun returns as temperatures soar before thunderstorm strikes
Although the Met Office did warn that it will be a “grey and damp” start today, the weather will improve. The UK has been hit with constant downpours over the last week following the arrival of a brutal weather front but that could change on Wednesday.
Both Monday and Tuesday were dull days but according to Met Office meteorologist, Aidan McGivern, the UK could be in store for a much more pleasant day on Wednesday.
Mr McGivern said: “It turns brighter with the sun returning later.
“We’ll see a cold front moving in from the west.
“It takes its time and then it slows down across the northeast.
“Later in the day there is the chance of a warm weather front.”
Before that potentially sunny spell, across the south and northeast of the UK, a thick bad of weather will hover for much of the morning.
With that weather front, temperatures will stay around 9C (48.2F).
Moreover, for Scotland, most of the country will see outbreaks of rain which could cause problems during the morning commute.

As the morning progresses, however, the weather will vastly improve in the mid-afternoon.
With the band of wet weather moving eastwards, temperatures will climb to around to 16C (60.8F) for many across the UK.
Speaking on the resurgent weather, Mr McGivern said: “For many early afternoon is looking dry and bright.
“But for the far northeast of Scotland the rainfall slows down as it approaches the middle part of the day.”

Met Office weather warnings MAPPED: Where will storms strike?
While most of the UK will see brighter weather, there is a chance that showers could return.
Unfortunately there will be rain across parts of Wales and Northern Ireland.
While Wednesday may see a return of warmer weather, on Thursday conditions will apparently return to the wet and grey conditions the UK has experienced recently.
Despite the warm weather on Wednesday, the wet weather will return late at night as we had into Thursday morning.
Mr McGivern confirmed that it will mostly consist of “clear spells and showers” depending on the time of day throughout the rest of the week.
Mr McGivern added: “Thursday will be a lively day for western Scotland, western England and Wales.
“Showers will be coming in quite frequently.
“There could even be hail and thunder.
“Eastern areas will likely see some breaks in the cloud.
“All areas will see blustery weather.”
