UK weather forecast: Scorching heatwave to hit Britain as forecast chart turns black

The prediction was shown in a dramatic chart released by Met Desk, which showed southern parts of the UK turn dark red and black. The rest of the country is covered in dark reds and oranges to signify the sharp rise in temperatures next week. According to the Met Office temperatures will begin to increase by the weekend and continues to rise throughout the week.

This spike in heat will come after a week of wet and thundery showers across the country resulting in flooding in some areas where the rainfall was heaviest.

France will see the brunt of the heatwave as the entire country will feel the intense shift in temperature.

Until the rise in temperature, the UK will have to endure more wet weather and downpours.

The Met Office said temperatures will rise this week but persistent rain will continue to lash parts of the country across northwest England, Wales and northern Scotland.

Yellow weather warnings for thunderstorms have been issued from 6pm on Tuesday until 9pm on Wednesday for southern and eastern England spanning Hull to Portsmouth.

The Met Office warned: “Thunderstorms may develop bringing torrential rain, hail and lightning to a few places, with potential disruption to travel and flooding.”

Lincolnshire, where people had to be evacuated last week, will see potential heavy showers again tomorrow into Wednesday.

Thunderstorms may develop bringing torrential rain, hail and lightning to a few places, with potential disruption to travel and flooding.

But there are signs high pressure will begin to dominate by the end of the month.

This will bring “a greater chance of more settled and warm weather” meaning July and August could still be blazing hot yet.
