UK snow forecast: Polar vortex sees subzero Arctic plunge hit Britain IN DAYS – new maps

As October comes to an end, the weather will turn wet and rainy with up to 164mm of rain forecast to fall by 9pm on October 28. Three days later up to 251mm of rain is expected to fall across the entire country by 6pm on Halloween, according to latest WX Charts.
However, the weather is to take a dramatic turn following the downpours as temperatures are forecast to plummet below zero at the beginning of November.
According to the latest WX Charts, by midday on November 3, temperatures in Inverness and Aberdeen will plummet to between -3C and -4C.
Due to the freezing weather, the Scottish Highlands – as well as Edinburgh – is expected to see some snow as an Arctic polar vortex arrives as early as next week.
The north of England will also see freezing temperatures with the likes of Newcastle set for 0C.
The south east of England and the midlands are expected to have milder weather, with temperatures around 3C and 4C.
The cold weather is expected to continue throughout the first week of November.
Inverness and the Scottish Highlands will see temperatures continue to be between -1C and -2C on November 4.
Across England and Wales, temperatures will remain at freezing temperatures with Newcastle and the north east forecast for 0C.
Snow maps show high areas facing a flurry which is likely to settle across high areas. Edinburgh can expect snow as can parts of Lancashire and the Midlands.
The South East of England will remain mild with temperatures reaching just 4C in London.
But even southern areas are unlikely to miss out on snow with Norfolk and Suffolk forecast for blizzards.
By November 6, many parts of Scotland and the north of England will wake up to snow and frost as temperatures are expected to remain freezing.
Cold weather will continue with the Scottish Highlands – including Inverness – seeing temperatures at -3C by midday on November 6.
Edinburgh is set for freezing temperatures of around -1C and 0C, with the north east – such as Newcastle – also set for -1C.

The cold weather will continue down through England and Wales with 0C set for the entire north of England.
London and the south east will see milder temperatures but is only expected to reach a maximum of 4C as the cold weather hits.
Anyone expecting a break from the freezing weather will be severely disappointed as the temperatures will continue to plummet.
Southern parts of England will see temperatures drop between 1C and 2C such as in London and Plymouth.
Cardiff and the whole of Wales are expected to see 0C and the Midlands will be around 1C as of 6am on November 9.
The north of England will continue to see temperatures no higher than 1C, with Newcastle, set for 0C in the same time period.
As always, Scotland will remain the coldest part of the country will temperatures plummeting back down to -3C in Aberdeen and Inverness.
According to WX Charts, there will be heavy snowfall at midnight on November 9 across the Scottish Highlands and the north east of England.
The cold weather is also expected to bring with it heavy rainfall across the entire country as winter arrives.
According to the Met Office’s long-range forecast, there will be a continuation of the unsettled weather from November 8.
