Due to a band of weather hitting the country this week, the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog. Coupled with the fog, graphs show temperatures dropping to 1C in parts of the country. According to graphs from WXCharts, parts of the Midlands, Wales and Yorkshire will fall to 1C on Wednesday morning.

For the majority of the south, the mercury will range between 2-3C in the early hours of Wednesday.

For parts of the northwest and northeast, temperatures will hover around 2C.

These cold temperatures will remain throughout the morning as Britons are hit by a winter blast.

The chill will still bite on Thursday morning in London and the south of England.

For these areas, the mercury will range between 2-3C on Thursday morning.

For the Midlands and northern England, the mercury will range between 2-4C on Thursday.

Wales too will remain cold, with temperatures ranging between 1-2C.

Due to the fog and cold conditions, Accuweather meteorologist Alyssa Smithmyer, suggested any wet surfaces may turn to ice late on Tuesday and in the early hours of Wednesday.

She told Express.co.uk: “Overnight temperatures this week will reach near-freezing level Tuesday night through Thursday night for parts of Scotland, England and Wales.

“Overnight frost and foggy mornings will be a concern during this period.

“As the frontal boundary with associated showers shifts away from southern England Tuesday evening, any wet surfaces could turn slippery overnight as temperatures drop.”

The yellow weather warning from the Met Office will run between 10pm today to 12pm Wednesday.
