There’s a hidden message in Chick-fil-A’s logo.

When Truett Cathy was coming up with the name for his iconic chicken sandwich in the early 1960s, he decided to play on the phrase “chicken fillet.”

“I began to reflect on the product, which was the best part of the chicken — a boneless breast,” Cathy writes inhis book, “Eat Mor Chikin: Inspire More People.”

He continued: “It occurred to me that the best cut of beef is a fillet; why not call ours a chicken fillet? Or chick fillet? Or Chick-fil-A?”

The decision to capitalize the “A” was a conscious choice on Cathy’s part, an attempt to represent “top quality.”

Cathy registered the “Chick-fil-A” name in 1963.

While Chick-fil-A has evolved over the years, the capitalized “A” has remained consistent. The chicken chain grew sales by 16.7% in 2018, reaching about $10.5 billion and becoming the third-largest restaurant chain in the US.

Kevin Spacey Reads Cryptic Poem At Roman Museum About Cast-Aside Boxer

Kevin Spacey may be mounting the comeback trail. The actor made his first public appearance since criminal sexual assault charges were dropped against him in Massachusetts last month, choosing reading a poem at the National Roman Museum in Rome as his vehicle.

The media was reportedly notified in advance of the appearance to enhance the opportunity. The actor spoke to a small crowd while standing near a bronze statue of a battered fighter, reciting Italian poet Gabriele Tinti’s “The Boxer” in English.

The poem is a reflection on a worn-out and lonely boxer who is cast aside despite previous glory. It follows a viral video circulated earlier this year featuring Spacey cooking and in character as his House of Cards protagonist Frank Underwood, using his acting skills to ask the audience to consider a different side of his legal situation.

In Rome, the allegory to Spacey’s legal problems was obvious.

“They used me for their entertainment, fed on shoddy stuff. Life was over in a moment,” said Spacey in reciting the poem at the museum.

“I shook the country, made the arenas vibrate, tore my opponents to shreds. I lit up the darkness, collected insults, compelled applause. Not everyone knew how to do this. None of you. On the other hand, life is not frightening for those who have never taken a risk.”

Spacey is still under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct in London and Los Angeles. Watch the video above for his most recent performance.

Draymond Green agrees to four-year, $99.7 million extension with Warriors

Forward Draymond Green has reached a four-year, $99.7 million extension with the Golden State Warriors, a person with knowledge of the deal told USA TODAY Sports.

The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly until the deal was announced by the team.

Green is entering the final season of a contract that will pay him $18.5 million in 2019-20, bringing the full value of his deal to five years, $118.2 million.

Green is a vital part of Golden State’s success, helping the Warriors to titles in 2015, 2017 and 2018. He is a three-time All-Star, was the 2016-17 defensive player of the year and is a five-time All-NBA defensive team selection, including all-defensive second team in 2018-19. He anchors Golden State’s highly ranked defense.

He is a top-notch defender, able to guard multiple positions, and he also facilitates on offense. Last season, Green averaged 7.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 6.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks.

With Kevin Durant leaving Golden State for Brooklyn and Klay Thompson out for a significant portion of the season with a torn ACL, Green’s performance alongside Steph Curry and D’Angelo Russell will be crucial to Golden State’s success in 2019-20.

UK Brexit pressure: Johnson's majority cut to one seat

When the British parliament returns from recess in September, it will have less than two months to decide how it exits the European Union.

The UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson has a new challenge after sweeping into Downing Street on July 24.

His ruling Conservative Party has had its majority in parliament cut to just one, after losing a by-election in Wales.

This may make his Brexit promises harder to fulfil.
