Much to her surprise she saw the tiny cubs had been recorded in the early hours playing tug-of-war with the newspaper.

Their mother keeps an eye on them from afar and is on look out as the Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr. Fox-style heist takes place.

During the coronavirus lockdown, foxes have been taking advantage of the empty streets and upping their mischievous antics.

In Dartford, Kent, an adult fox stole a Hermes parcel worth £120 of electrical goods from Martin Hind, 33, when it was delivered outside the gates of his business.

He too resorted to checking CCTV footage recorded overnight to find out where his package had gone and was shocked to see the cheeky animal pinching it at 1am.

Elsewhere, in Leeds, Yorkshire, Helen Greenwood set up a camera on her porch to find out who had stolen three lots of her eggs.

In the hilarious footage a cunning fox makes off with a box of 12 eggs which Ms Greenwood had delivered by the milkman.
