Terrifying footage shows the moment a young boy repeatedly jumped across the roof of a 22-storey building in China.

Two youngsters were seen playing near the edge of the unfenced rooftops of high-rise buildings in Xianning, Hubei province.

The footage, filmed on October 24, shows one of the boys repeatedly leaping across the gap between the two buildings.

The two children were safely rescued by property staff, according to reports.

The 96-second clip begins with a view of the ground, showing the height of the high-rise building, before zooming in on the two young boys playing on top of the two platforms.

One of the young boys, dressed in a purple top and black trousers, is seen walking up and down the ledge before leaping from one side to the other, over the gap between the two platforms.

He lands on the other side where another, smaller, boy in an orange top and black trousers is waiting.

The boy in orange then walks to the edge of the platform and looks down the gap the other boy has just jumped over before turning back.

The boy in purple then gets back to his feet, walks quickly to the edge of the platform, hesitates for a few seconds, and jumps back to the other platform.

He lands and then turns back before jumping back over the huge drop for a third time to rejoin the boy in orange on the left-hand platform.

The clip then zooms back out, showing the huge drop from top to bottom, and no clear fencing to prevent either of the two boys falling.

Mr Yin, who filmed the video, said he felt weak at the knees while watching the two children come so close to danger.

He said he immediately called property staff who were shocked and went to fetch the two young boys.

They were brought down safely, according to the South China Morning Post.

The newspaper said the rooftop is not open to residents of the buildings and staff said they found a lock on the door accessing the roof had been damaged.

The lock has since been replaced and the two boys have been ‘reprimanded’, unnamed staff members were quoted as saying.

Last year, four children were caught on camera casually playing on the triangle roof of a 32-storey residential building in south-eastern China.

The footage showed two of the kids trying to slide down from the surface while the other held onto the building’s lightning rods to keep balance.

They had climbed onto the high-rise block’s rooftop through an emergency fire exit, according to local government.

The four children, who were said to be aged around ten, were said to be unhurt from the event.
