President Trump considered nominating his eldest daughter Ivanka to lead the World Bank – because “she’s very good with numbers” – and said she would be “very, very hard to beat” if she decided to make a run for the White House, according to a new report.

In an interview with the Atlantic, Trump called his 37-year-old daughter and senior adviser a “natural diplomat,” saying she “would’ve been great at the United Nations, as an example.”

Asked why he didn’t nominate her as UN ambassador, he replied: “If I did, they’d say nepotism, when it would’ve had nothing to do with nepotism. But she would’ve been incredible.”

The president confirmed that he seriously considered nominating Ivanka for a vacancy leading the World Bank, a rumor that sparked a backlash from his opponents.

“I even thought of Ivanka for the World Bank,” Trump said, noting that “she would’ve been great at that because she’s very good with numbers.”

He ended up nominating David Malpass, the Treasury undersecretary for international affairs, who was unanimously approved by its executive board last week.

The president also praised his daughter in the interview for possessing “a great calmness” and said that she could potentially follow in his footsteps and make a bid for the White House.

“If she ever wanted to run for president, I think she’d be very, very hard to beat,” he said. “She’s got a great calmness … I’ve seen her under tremendous stress and pressure.

“She reacts very well — that’s usually a genetic thing, but it’s one of those things, nevertheless. She’s got a tremendous presence when she walks into the room.”

Ivanka, a former businesswoman and fashion model, has appeared on the world stage before — notably sitting in for her father once at the G-20 Summit in Hamburg, prompting claims of nepotism and sarcasm about her diplomatic bona fides.

“I try to stay out of politics,” Ivanka told “Fox & Friends” in June 2017 when asked about her father’s use of Twitter to make official pronouncements.

“His political instincts are phenomenal. He did something that no one could have imagined he’d be able to accomplish,” she said.

“I feel blessed just being part of the ride from day one and before. But he did something pretty remarkable. But I don’t profess to be a political savant,” she said at the time.

The president said he also was also proud of his other children.

“Barron is young, but he’s got wonderful potential,” Trump said about his 13-year-old son.

“And Tiffany’s doing extremely well. Don is, uh, he’s enjoying politics; actually, it’s very good. And Eric is running the business along with Don, and also very much into politics. I mean, the children — the children have been very, very good.”
