Toddler fighting for his life after falling into BOILING crockpot suffering HORRIFIC burns

Ivan Maletych was rushed to the intensive care unit at Lviv Burn Centre hospital with fourth-degree burns. Two-year-old Ivan suffered burns to 70 percent of his body. Doctors have not yet spoke on his chances of survival but are doing everything they can for Ivan.

Head deputy of the hospital’s emergency department Victor Pyzhevsky said: “The boy is in a critical condition. He is receiving mechanical ventilation.”

A charity worker took a picture of Ivan showing his entire body wrapped in bandages after he was admitted to hospital.

It has been reported the incident took place when Ivan’s mother Ivanna Maletych went to wash some clothes.

Mrs Maletych heated 40 litres of water in a cooking pot and put it on the kitchen floor before going to a grocery shop for bread.

Mrs Maletych told local media: “Ivan was playing in the house while his elder brother was watching cartoons.

“I think he entered the kitchen and accidentally fell into the cooking pot of boiling water.”

Mrs Maletych’s husband was in the courtyard and heard screams before rushing inside.

Mr Maletych saw what had happened and took Ivan’s clothes off, pouring cold water on him before rushing him to hospital.

Mrs Maletych said she is staying by her sons side and cannot forgive herself for what happened.

She said: “I am constantly in the hospital with my son. Doctors say nothing of his chances of survival.

“My heart is broken and I cannot forgive myself for what happened.”

Police are treating Ivan’s case as an accident.
